Murray opted for a 2024 Range Rover SV as his mode of transportation, with a value ranging from $209,000 to $234,000 according to the Range Rover website. Despite his significant success, Murray expressed a preference for privacy, stating to The Post on Thursday, “Some of us just like to be discreet.”
It’s worth noting that both of Murray’s substantial wins were from $30 tickets purchased at H&A Gas and Convenience on Avenue H in Flatbush, Brooklyn.
Murray’s initial stroke of luck occurred during a game of Black Titanium. Subsequently, on Tuesday, he secured the top prize in the 200X scratch-off game. In both instances, Murray opted for the lump sum of $6 million after taxes, as confirmed by lottery officials.
“Twice in a row — the odds are unimaginable. It’s something you can’t even fathom,” remarked Hassan Nabil, a clerk at H&A store, when speaking to The Post on Thursday.
Murray is a familiar face at the convenience store, and Nabil describes him as a down-to-earth individual. According to the worker, Murray has remained unchanged since his wins, and he continues to play the lottery, seemingly deriving enjoyment from the experience.
He had the option to relocate from the neighborhood after his initial win, but he chose to stay put,” noted Nabil. “While wealth often alters people’s behavior, Murray remains unpretentious, refraining from any ostentation. He maintains authenticity and honesty in his demeanor.”
Murray resides in a modest three-story, semi-attached brick home, a place he has called home for the majority of his life, as confirmed by his neighbors. Such is his down-to-earth nature that Constance Bryane, residing in the attached home to Murray’s, was completely unaware of his remarkable stroke of good luck.
